A full-cycle HR portal for adidas CIS

Project completed, 2014–2022

Jobs at the office, the brand stores and the distribution centre in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan: from posting a vacancy to a decision on a candidate, in one system. Eight years of development and support.

Client and task

adidas CIS hired in three areas: the office, the brand stores and the distribution centre. Each had its own vacancies, application forms and way of handling candidates, across three countries. The company needed one portal where HR posts vacancies, receives applications and moves candidates through stages. Each area still follows its own rules, and the data connects to corporate systems and hh.ru.

What we built

  • Central vacancy publishing

Vacancies for all areas and countries are managed in one place. Each area has its own section on the site: vacancies, training, success stories, interview schedule.

Candidates land right where their type of job is hired.

  • Different vacancy structures and processes

Office, store and warehouse vacancies are described and handled differently, as each area requires.

One system serves HR in all three areas, no separate tools.

  • The application form adapts to the vacancy

The form's fields depend on the vacancy and the area.

Candidates fill in only what this job needs.

  • Applications move through stages

HR takes a candidate from application to decision. Invitation, rejection and moving to the talent pool are sent from email templates.

Candidates don't get lost between stages and always get a reply.

  • HR metrics and analytics

The portal collects metrics on vacancies, applications and candidates by itself and shows how well HR processes work.

You see where the hiring funnel stalls, without manual counting.

  • Integrations

The portal is connected to SAP SuccessFactors, hh.ru and the company's internal systems.

No manual copying of data between systems.

  • Data export

Portal data can be taken into reports and other systems.

  • Three country versions

The site ran in versions for Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.

One portal instead of three separate sites.

How it works

The portal has two parts. The public part is the job site: a candidate picks an area and a vacancy and fills in the form. The closed part is the HR workspace with applications, stages, email templates and analytics; most of the portal's functionality lived there. The portal is built with Laravel and PostgreSQL, connected to SuccessFactors, hh.ru and the company's systems, and ran on Kubernetes.

Timeline and scale

  1. August 2014 work on the portal starts.
  2. 2014–2022 development and support: new hiring processes, integrations, move to containers and Kubernetes.
  3. September 2022 last changes; after adidas left Russia, the portal was shut down.

Scale: three hiring areas (office, brand stores, distribution centre), three countries, eight years of continuous work on one system.

What it gave

  • One tool for all hiring

Office, stores and warehouse in three countries worked in one system, each by its own rules.

  • Hiring under control

Stages, templates and automatic metrics showed HR where candidates are and where the process stalls.

  • No manual data transfer

Links to SuccessFactors, hh.ru and internal systems removed double entry.
